Cardiff Devils v Coventry Blaze

Cardiff Devils take on Coventry Blaze at Vindico Arena on Saturday 17 October, with puck-drop at 19:00. It's a Challenge Cup match, so it sits alongside the regular league fixtures rather than as part of the main table.

For those who don't follow the league closely, the Challenge Cup is the Elite Ice Hockey League's knockout competition, and this is one of the early rounds. The Devils are playing at home, and the Blaze are making the trip down from the Midlands, so it's a proper cross-country clash. If you're not a regular at the rink, it's a good way to see the team in a cup setting, where every game counts a bit differently than a league match.

The Devils are an Elite Ice Hockey League side, and Vindico Arena is their home ground, so they'll have the home crowd behind them for this one. The arena is over in the Cardiff Bay area, on Olympian Drive (CF11 0JS), which is a fair way from the city centre but well-served by the Bay's transport links.

It's a Saturday night game, so it's a straightforward one to work around. Puck-drop is at 19:00, and the match is part of the league's Challenge Cup, with the Devils hosting the Blaze at Vindico Arena on 17 October.
