A themed 2016 party with DJ music at Clwb Ifor Bach, with entry by lottery.
Clwb Ifor Bach is hosting a 2016 Party on Friday 30 October, a Halloween club night dedicated to the music of that year. It's a DJ-led night, so you'll be dancing to records rather than a live band, and the whole thing is built around the pop and dance charts from 2016. If you spent that year with your headphones on, you'll recognise the names on the list.
The set is built from the artists who defined the sound of 2016. Justin Bieber and Major Lazer are right at the front, alongside Ellie Goulding, Fetty Wap and LMFAO. Calvin Harris and Avicii provide the dance-floor side of things, and Zara Larsson and Pitbull round it out. It's a broad mix of pop, EDM and the kind of club tracks that were playing everywhere back then, so the night should move through a fair few different moods without ever leaving that particular era.
Since it's a Halloween night, it's a good excuse to dig out a costume, though the music is the main thing. It's a DJ set, so the focus is on the dance floor rather than a stage, and the songs will be the ones you remember from that year. If you've got a particular 2016 track you've been thinking about, this is where you'll likely hear it.
