Stand-up comedy show by Grace Campbell, presented by AEG, a messy self-examination exploring identity and personal growth.
Grace Campbell brings her stand-up show The Lady is a Tramp to Beacon Hall on Wednesday 4 November, presented by AEG. It's a reserved-seating night, so you'll have a proper seat rather than standing around for the duration.
Campbell describes herself as a contradiction: loud and anxious, spiritual and materialistic, graceful and a disgrace. The Lady is a Tramp is built around that tension. She talks about stopping the effort to fit into the tiny boxes she's felt she has to contort herself into, and asks why she can't just be everything at once. She bills the show as a messy self-examination from a woman who's had many breakdowns and rebirths, and the material follows that thread.
It's a late-night slot, starting at 19:00, and there are a few things to keep in mind before you book. The show is for ages 14 and over, with under-18s needing to be accompanied by an adult. The comedians use very strong language and express controversial opinions, and the set contains mention of sex and drugs, so it's not one to bring the kids along to.
