An immersive music experience featuring disco, funk, soul and pop performed by Evelyn and the Shakedown at The Trinity Centre.
The Immersive Music Experience comes to The Trinity Centre on Thursday 17 December, with Evelyn and the Shakedown taking the lead. It's a night built around disco, funk, soul and pop, and the immersive part of the title is just that — it's not a standard stand-and-watch gig. The music is the main thing, and the set draws from those four styles, so you'll get plenty of the dancefloor sounds that usually keep a night going.
Evelyn and the Shakedown are the act of the evening, and they'll be the ones leading the charge. If you're not familiar with them, the disco, funk, soul and pop description gives you the best idea of where they sit: it's music that's meant to get people moving rather than just listening from a distance. The whole thing is billed as an immersive experience, so it's less about a band on a stage and more about the music filling the room.
The night is part of Trinity Presents, the live music and performing arts programme run by Trinity Community Arts, a Bristol charity and civic arts organiser based at the Grade II listed Trinity Centre*. The venue stages live music, theatre and dance alongside creative workshops and community activities, welcoming more than 73,000 people each year under the mission 'Empower Communities Through the Arts'. This particular show takes place in the Main Hall, which is the centre's largest space.
