Teenage Fanclub, the critically acclaimed Scottish alternative rock band, perform live at the Trinity Centre in Bristol.
Teenage Fanclub play Trinity Centre on Wednesday 4 November, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. They're the only name on the bill for now, with the support act still to be announced.
If you're not familiar, they're a Scottish alternative rock band from Bellshill, just outside Glasgow, and they've been at it since 1989. They built their reputation on a blend of power pop harmonies, jangle pop and indie rock, and they're often called a 'band's band' — the kind of act other musicians admire. The sound draws from Big Star and The Byrds, so it's melodic and guitar-led rather than heavy. The core line-up is Norman Blake, Raymond McGinley and Francis Macdonald, and their 1991 album Bandwagonesque is widely considered a masterpiece of that era.
