Stand-up comedy show by Stuart Goldsmith on the climate crisis, filmed live at Bristol Old Vic.
Stuart Goldsmith brings Canary to the Bristol Old Vic on Wednesday 18 November, a stand-up show about the climate crisis that's being filmed live. It's his twelfth solo hour and his second on the subject, following 2023's Spoilers, which took Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival and was one of the best-reviewed hours at the Edinburgh Fringe that year.
Goldsmith is a Bristol-born comic with more than twenty years in stand-up and thirty in performance. He's a regular on the BBC's Live at The Apollo, filmed a Netflix special at Netflix is a Joke, and has appeared on Conan. He also hosts The Comedian's Comedian podcast, which has passed 500 episodes. Beyond the stage, he's become a vocal champion of other comics and a figure in climate comedy, performing alongside Adam McKay and working with businesses to reframe how we talk about the climate crisis. He moved back to south Bristol in 2015 to raise a family, so this is a local return in more than one sense.
