A weekly physical theatre workshop combining movement, dance improvisation and voice work, led by Nina, for adults aged 18+.
Silly Serious Sessions are running at The Elephant House in Bedminster, with the next session on Thursday 15 October. It's a weekly physical theatre workshop for anyone 18+, and if you're around Bristol on a Thursday evening, it's one you can drop into more than once.
Each session mixes physical theatre games and exercises, dance improvisation, expressive art and creative voice play, all drawing on personal and collective imagination. The idea is to give you a space to express your creativity and imagination through movement and voice, and to be playful and silly together. It's less about getting something 'right' and more about letting go and seeing what happens when you move and make sound with other people.
The sessions are led by Nina, a practitioner trained in contemporary dance, physical theatre, street theatre, music and expressive art. She brings that whole range into the room, so you'll find the work shifting between movement, voice and the more playful, game-led side of physical theatre. It's open to anyone 18+, and you don't need any previous experience to join in.

Beyond the 15 October date, there's a full run of weekly sessions throughout the autumn and winter: 24 September; 1, 8, 15, 22 October; 5, 12, 19, 26 November; and 3, 10, 17 December. They all run from 19:00 to 20:30 at The Elephant House, 1 Dean Street, Bedminster, BS3 1BG. If you're thinking of coming back more than once, there's a bundle of sessions available that brings the cost per session down to £10. Each session needs a minimum of four people to run, so it's worth booking ahead.
