The Phil Beer Trio guide the audience through the blues roots of Blind Willie Johnson, Davy Graham and John Mayall, with Miranda Sykes on bass and Sian Monaghan on percussion.
The Phil Beer Trio play Lantern Hall at the Bristol Beacon on Wednesday 21 October, as part of their Blues and Beyond tour. It's a night that follows on from the success of The Blues Hour, and the tour brings together three musicians for an evening of songs and random anecdotes drawn from an extraordinary life in music.
Phil Beer is a world-renowned multi-instrumentalist, and for this show he's joined by Miranda Sykes on bass and Sian Monaghan on percussion. Together they guide the audience through the blues roots of Beer's own musical life, drawing on the work of Blind Willie Johnson, The Rev Gary Davis, Davy Graham and John Mayall, and giving it his own distinctive twist. The set is presented by Firebrand Music.
