Nick Malcolm's quartet plays Blue Note classics with Hammond on organ, Banks on guitar and Goodyear on drums at the Bristol Music Club.
Nick Malcolm Organ Quartet play Bristol Music Club on Wednesday 14 October, as part of the Jazz at Bristol Music Club weekly session. It's a Blue Note night, so the set is built around classics from the legendary label, with the Hammond organ taking the lead. Nick Malcolm is on the organ, joined by Banks on guitar and Goodyear on drums.
If you're not familiar with the venue, the Bristol Music Club is a Victorian building in Clifton that's housed the club for more than a century. Its auditorium holds two grand pianos, a Steinway and a Bosendorfer, and it's been the home of Jazz at Bristol Music Club since 2012. That weekly session has hosted local, national and international musicians for over a decade, with a long list of names passing through: Andy Sheppard, Iain Ballamy, Art Themen, Jim Mullen, John Etheridge, Paul Dunmall, Evan Parker, Jason Rebello, Hans Koller, Alan Barnes, Theo Travis, Dave Newton, James Morton, John Pearce, Partisans, Hamid Drake, Mark Lockheart and Jeff Williams. This is one more night in that sequence.
