An immersive contemporary circus experience from Big Wolf Company, part of the Baltic Circus Now UK Showcase, featuring aerial acrobatics, storytelling and projections.
Big Wolf Company bring Lightgarden to Circomedia on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October, as part of the Baltic Circus Now showcase. It's an immersive contemporary circus piece, and the company is Estonia's first touring contemporary circus company, so this is their UK debut.
They describe Lightgarden as a fairytale tent shaped by light and shadow, where gentleness unfolds on a full moon's night. The show pulls together aerial acrobatics, storytelling and projections, and it's recommended for ages seven and over, with something for the whole family. It's a contemporary circus show rather than a traditional one, so you'll find acrobatics and storytelling working together rather than as separate acts.
The production is part of Baltic Circus Now, an international contemporary circus programme that brings artists from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to UK audiences. The showcase is co-funded by the Baltic Culture Fund and organised in partnership with the Lithuanian Culture Institute, with the Estonian Embassy in London collaborating. The aim is to strengthen the ties between the Baltic and British contemporary circus sectors through performance, networking and artistic exchange, and Lightgarden is the Estonian contribution to that.
