Stand-up comedy show Hellbent by Larry Dean, the self-styled Gallus Glaswegian Goon, known for his appearances on Saturday Night Live and QI.
Larry Dean brings his new show Hellbent to the Bristol Old Vic on Wednesday 9 December, one of the final stops of a 42-date tour that runs from September through December 2026. He's a Glaswegian comic who calls himself the Gallus Glaswegian Goon, and the show is built around a simple, relatable premise: refusing to grow up. He's recently married but describes himself as still emotionally feral, and much of the set comes from that tension between the life he's supposed to be settling into and the one he'd rather keep.
If you haven't come across him yet, he's been appearing on some of the biggest stages in comedy. He's been on Saturday Night Live, Live at the Apollo, QI and The Royal Variety Performance, and this tour comes just before he joins the cast of Saturday Night Live UK. The reviews have been strong, too: The Telegraph called him destined to become a household name, and The Herald described the set as hilarious, surprisingly touching and incredibly funny. It's a good way to see him in a room before he becomes a regular on the telly.

He won't be on his own for the night, either. Thor Stenhaug opens the bill, so you'll get two acts for the price of one. The show runs for about an hour and 40 minutes, including an interval, and it's aimed at ages 16 and over. Tickets are £27, which includes a £1 booking fee, though members and ticket subscribers are exempt from that part. The Old Vic is on King Street, BS1 4ED, and the show starts at 7:30pm.
