The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar arrives at the Bristol Hippodrome for a one-week run, starring Sam Ryder as Jesus.
Jesus Christ Superstar comes to the Bristol Hippodrome from 19 to 30 October 2027, a one-week run that brings the rock opera to St Augustine's Parade. It's the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice show that tells the final days of Jesus through the eyes of Judas, casting him as a tragic antihero and leaning into radical political themes not found in the Bible.
This production follows record-breaking West End runs at The London Palladium and Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and is now touring the UK, having opened at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. Producer Michael Harrison called it an 'extraordinary new production'. The score runs through 'I Don't Know How to Love Him', 'Everything's Alright', 'Gethsemane' and the title number 'Superstar'.
