Progressive rock band Haken perform live at The Trinity Centre in Bristol.
Haken play The Trinity Centre on Friday 5 February, with the night starting at 19:00. They're a London-born six-piece progressive rock band, and their evolving catalogue has made them one of the defining acts of modern progressive music. Over the years, they've built a reputation for the kind of complex, shifting arrangements that prog is known for, and this is one of those gigs where the music takes centre stage.
They've picked up some colourful descriptions along the way. Outburn Magazine in the US called them 'your newest musical masturbation fantasy', while PROG in the UK described them as 'one of the brightest young bands in the progressive sphere right now' and 'the prodigiously talented youths that will benefit prog'. It's a band that's as much about the technical side of things as the songs themselves.
The line-up on stage is six people: Charlie Griffiths on guitars, Ross Jennings on vocals, Diego Tejeida on keys, Jeroen Moons on drums, Richard Henshall on guitars and keys, and Conner Green on bass. With two guitarists and two people handling keys, there's a lot of ground they can cover in a single set.

The show is presented by Action! in association with Sound Talent Group. The Trinity Centre has a capacity of 600, so it's a decent-sized room without being huge. Tickets are £30 in advance plus fees, with a £1 Restoration Levy added to every ticket. Doors open at 19:00, and the band takes the stage that evening.
