A Halloween special traditional social dance ceilidh with live folk music and a guest caller, Tess Livingstone.
Greenbank Folk Club are back with their Autumn Ceilidh on Friday 30 October at The Greenbank in Easton, a Halloween special that keeps the club's traditional social dance format. The dancing happens upstairs, and the night is led by caller Tess Livingstone, who teaches every dance as you go, so you don't need to know any of the steps to join in.
These ceilidhs are high-energy community dances rooted in the spirit of the club's tunes session. Each evening pairs two seasoned ceilidh musicians with guest players from the Tuesday sessions, and the music comes from the Bristol folk scene. It's a social night as much as a musical one, with the dancing taking centre stage.
The ceilidhs run alongside The Greenbank Tunes Session, which takes place in the bar on the first and third Tuesday of every month, and musicians are encouraged to turn up and play. The venue is strictly 18+, though under-18s are allowed in the company of a 21+ adult at a 1:1 ratio.
