Stand-up comedian Ed Night performs his show 'Remains' at the Redgrave Theatre in Bristol.
Ed Night brings Remains to Redgrave Theatre on Tuesday 23 March, a matinee show that starts at 16:00 with doors opening about half an hour before. It's part of a tour that sees him back on the road after a bit of a break.
Night describes himself as a people's comedian and a 'serial loser', and the material he's touring draws on the full range of life's absurdities. He talks about the man who believes he'll die if he ever slows down, and meeting God, who asks him for a fiver. It's that kind of observational, slightly off-kilter comedy that works because it's rooted in the everyday rather than the punchline.
There's a bit of a story to the gap since his last run, too. He's been through a string of hospital appointments and a stint in the writers' room of what he calls 'the only comedy TV show left in the country', SNL UK. Remains is the show that comes out of that period, and it's the one he's taking around the country. The Bristol date is already sold out, so you'll want to keep an eye on the venue's listings if you're hoping for a ticket to open up.
