Stand-up comedy show by Cody Dahler, a satirist and political writer, exploring modern British politics with guest host Shaparak Khorsandi.
Cody Dahler brings his new show, The State of This!, to St George's on Monday 9 November. It's one date in a run that stretches from Monday 2 to Thursday 26 November, and for the Bristol night, he's joined by guest host Shaparak Khorsandi.
Dahler is an award-winning comedian, satirist and political writer who's built a following of more than two million across his platforms, where he's known as one of the funniest and most accessible voices making sense of the state of modern Britain. The show takes on today's identity-driven, social-media hot-take and culture-war-fuelled politics, and it doubles as a live companion to his book, The State of This!: A Thicky Thicky Dumb Dumb's Guide to British Politics. If you go for a Band A ticket, you get a hardback copy of the book with it.
There's a bit of a twist to the format: Dahler tours with a different guest host at each date, and they spend part of the show discussing the book and answering questions from the audience. Khorsandi takes that role for the Bristol show. It's recommended for ages 16 and over.
