Americana and folk singer-songwriter performing live at The Trinity Centre.
Carsie Blanton plays The Trinity Centre on Tuesday 6 April 2027, starting at 7:00 PM. She's an Americana and folk singer-songwriter who describes herself as a radical folk artist in the tradition of Woody Guthrie, and her songs draw on vaudeville, campfire singalongs and punk rock. It's a sound that sits somewhere between the old-school folk revival and something a bit more jagged, and she's been touring it for two decades, regularly selling out mid-size venues across the US and Europe.
Beyond the music, Blanton works as a political organiser and activist. In the autumn of 2025, she took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla, a direct-action voyage to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza by sailboat, and was imprisoned in Israel for five days. One of the songs from that period, 'The Little Flame', was recorded with the Irish band Ye Vagabonds and her prison-mate Rana Hamida, and it appears on her album The Red Album Vol II. She continues her organising work with Artists Against Apartheid and the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
