Cara Noir (Tom Dawkins) returns for a rare out-of-character Q&A and screening on his Black Swan persona, analysing his historic match with PAC.
Cara Noir is back in Brighton on Saturday 19 September, at the Caroline of Brunswick in Round Hill. It's his first time performing in the city since 2020, and the night is run by BRIGHTSIDE Wrestling.
If you're not familiar with the name, Cara Noir is the ring persona of Tom Dawkins, who's known as one of wrestling's most captivating minds. He made his mark as the 'Black Swan'—a mute, ballet-inspired character that pushed back against the macho stereotypes of the sport. It's a role that earned him a place as a British wrestling legend, and it's the one he'll be talking about here. The whole point of the night is that he'll be out of character for a rare Q&A, so you'll hear from Dawkins himself rather than the silent persona.
There's a screening as part of the evening, too. Seven years ago, he had an iconic match here in Brighton against international star PAC, a bout from the RIPTIDE era that's gone down as a bit of history in its own right. The session will watch and analyse that match, alongside other classics from BritWres' most epic losing streak. It's a chance to see the work from the inside, with Dawkins breaking down the matches and the thinking behind them.
