A 12-day real ale festival across Brighton Wetherspoons pubs featuring 30 different ales, including international and vegan options.
Starting this Wednesday, 4th March, there is a 12-day real ale festival happening across a few of the Wetherspoons pubs in Brighton. It runs until Sunday, 15th March, so there is a bit of time to head over to The Bright Helm on West Street, The Post & Telegraph on North Street, or The West Quay at the Marina. They are going to have 30 different ales available throughout the event, and most of them have been brewed specifically for this, so they haven't been served in the pubs before.

The selection includes five international beers from breweries in Brazil, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the USA. It is actually the first time they are serving a Mexican real ale—a Session IPA from Malteza. You will also find Tropical from Brazil’s Cervejaria Bodebrown, Nigredo from Birrificio Italiano, Vicious IPA from Almogaver in Spain, and Read the Room from Good Word Brewing in the States. If you like trying different flavours, some of the ales use ingredients like hibiscus, maple syrup, coffee, and elderflower. There are also three options that are suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
In terms of the practical side of things, pints are priced between £3.05 and £3.39. If you don't want to commit to a full pint of something new, they are doing an offer where you can get three one-third-of-a-pint tasters for the price of a single pint. You can find all the details and tasting notes in a magazine at the pub or on their app if you prefer to look things up on your phone. Matthew Scott, who manages The Post & Telegraph, mentioned that the idea is to keep things at a reasonable price while showing off different styles of brewing. You can just order at the bar as usual or use the app from your table.
