A live music event presented by Gotobeat featuring Bristol's post-punk band Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine, with support from Lana Death Ray and Ragdoll.
Tomorrow, Thursday 19th February, The Prince Albert on Trafalgar Street is hosting a live music night curated by the promoter Gotobeat. The main feature of the evening is the Bristol-based band Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine. Their sound is quite specific, pulling together elements of post-punk, indie-pop, and new wave. For those planning to head down to the North Laine area, the venue is located at 48 Trafalgar Street, right by the station, and the event is scheduled to run from 19:30 through to 23:00.

The lineup includes two distinct support acts that shift the tone of the evening. Lana Death Ray will be performing, bringing a noise rock element to the stage, which contrasts with the disco house style of Ragdoll. This combination of genres means the night covers a lot of ground musically, moving from heavier rock influences to more electronic, dance-oriented rhythms before the headliners take over. Because of the nature of the venue and the event, it is restricted to those aged 18 and over, so you will need to have ID ready at the door.
In terms of getting entry, tickets are available through online platforms such as Dice.fm. Prices are currently being quoted starting from £7.00, though some official tourism and event guides list a standard price of £8.16. It is generally simpler to sort these things out in advance given the limited capacity at the Albert. Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine are also using this date to showcase tracks from their new EP, Rear Meat. For those who still buy physical music, they have released this project on a 12-inch clear vinyl, which adds a bit of a collector's element to the current tour. It is a straightforward opportunity to see how the new material translates to a live setting in one of Brighton’s more established independent rooms.
