Vivaldi's The Four Seasons is coming to The Royal Pavilion as part of the 'Candlelight' series, with five dates running from late September 2026 through to early February 2027. It's a tribute concert, not affiliated with the composer's estate, and the whole thing is played under the glow of candlelight in a room that's never been used for this before.
The Four Seasons is one of those cornerstones of the classical canon that most of us know by heart, even if we've never sat through a full performance. It's a vivid, revolutionary work that captures the essence of nature with a fair bit of virtuosity and emotional power, and here it's the sole focus of the evening. The 'Candlelight' format turns it into a multi-sensory experience, with the music played by candlelight rather than under the usual stage lights.
The venue is The Royal Pavilion (4-5 Pavilion Buildings, Brighton, BN1 1EE), one of the city's most storied buildings, which has played host to dragons on its ceilings and chandeliers for more than two centuries. There are five dates to choose from, and they're spread out across the next few months: Friday 25 September at 21:00; Saturday 14 November at 19:00; Friday 11 December at 19:00; Saturday 9 January 2027 at 19:00; and Saturday 6 February 2027 at 21:00. Tickets are £25.00 as a guide price, subject to change, and seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis within each zone.
