Alt-rock artist Violet Grohl performs her debut album Be Sweet To Me at Chalk.
Violet Grohl plays Chalk on Thursday 8 October, bringing her debut album Be Sweet To Me to Brighton. It's her first time on a Brighton stage, and the set will be built around the new record.
Grohl is a Los Angeles native who grew up around music, singing along to Beatles vinyl and writing her first song at 12. Born on 15 April 2006, she's an American singer known for powerful vocals and a style that pulls from alt-rock, grunge and indie rock. The album Be Sweet To Me was recorded with producer Justin Raisen, who has worked with Charli xcx and Kim Gordon, and she's collaborated with Foo Fighters along the way. Her father is Dave Grohl, and the family connection is part of the story, but the record stands on its own.

Coming from LA, this is one of her first dates on this side of the Atlantic, so it's a good chance to catch her early on. The set will focus on the new material from Be Sweet To Me, and since it's her debut, there isn't a back catalogue to lean on — what you'll hear is the album as it's meant to be played. Tickets are £15 in advance, and the show is on Thursday 8 October at Chalk.
