The Valentines Ball

The Valentines Ball comes to Brighthelm Church and Community Centre on Saturday 3 October, presented by The Curse of Love. It's a dance party that starts at 16:00, so it's an afternoon and evening affair rather than a late-night one, and it's billed as a dancer meet-up hosted by the resident Jockeys.

As for what that actually looks like, the organisers describe it as an evening destined to explode with 'super soul chaos and fast footed freakiness' — a night of 'hard, dance-fuelled, unchained mayhem'. If that sounds a bit abstract, the 'About' section of the event opens with: 'Just been shot with a bow, by this little bald fella with wings. Kind of hurt actually...'

It's a dance party through and through, so the whole thing is built around the dancefloor. The Jockeys are the ones running the show, and the focus is on getting people moving rather than watching a performance from a stage. If you're into the dancing side of things, it's pitched as a meet-up for that crowd.
