West End comedy The Truth, starring Stephen Mangan, as the first stop on its UK tour.
The Truth comes to The Theatre Royal from 19 to 23 October 2027, as the first stop on its UK tour. It's Florian Zeller's Olivier-nominated comedy, translated into English by Christopher Hampton and directed by Lindsay Posner. The Brighton dates follow a strictly limited 12-week West End season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, and the production reunites the comic cast that played it at the Apollo Theatre.
On stage are Stephen Mangan as Michel, Ardal O'Hanlon as Paul, Sarah Hadland as Alice, and Janie Dee as Laurence. The play follows two couples and the web of secrets and lies running between them, led by Michel, a man engaged in an affair with his best friend's wife who tries to convince himself and everyone around him that honesty is overrated. It's a comedy of manners and misunderstandings, and with this cast, it's built for the stage.
Behind the scenes, Lizzie Clachan handles set and costume design, Richard Howell is on lighting, and Adam Cork takes care of sound. The production is put together by Melting Pot's Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska, in association with Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen. It runs about 90 minutes with no interval, so you're in and out in one go.

It's a short run here—just five days from 19 to 23 October—and since it's the tour opener, it's the first chance to catch it outside London. The show runs about 90 minutes without an interval, so you'll be back home before you know it.
