The Third Sound bring their hypnotic blend of psychedelia and drone-infused post-punk to The Rossi Bar.
The Third Sound play The Rossi Bar on Wednesday 30 September, their first Brighton date since their last tour. They're a Berlin-based psych rock band led by Icelandic musician Hákon Aðalsteinsson, and they describe their sound as a hypnotic blend of psychedelia and drone-infused post-punk. If you're not familiar with the name, Aðalsteinsson is the one to know — he's worked with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Singapore Sling, Anton Newcombe and Tess Parks, so there's a fair bit of psych-rock pedigree behind the project.
The band is currently supporting their latest album, Most Perfect Solitude, and the single 'Remedy', and they've come off the back of a successful Australian tour. The set will draw from that new material, but it's not just a showcase for the new record; they'll be playing tracks from previous albums too, so you'll hear a good mix of the new stuff and the older songs. The current line-up includes Robin Hughes.
