Sibling rock band The Molotovs perform their debut album 'Wasted On Youth' live at Chalk, Brighton, as part of their 'Welcome To Urbia' tour.
We have a big date coming up this autumn for anyone into high-energy rock and the classic Mod revival sound. The sibling duo The Molotovs are bringing their 'Welcome To Urbia' tour to Brighton, playing at Chalk on Saturday, September 5, 2026. This show is being billed as their largest performance in the city so far, which is a good indicator of the momentum theyâve built recently. The main focus of the night will be their debut album, Wasted On Youth, which was released at the end of January. The band members themselves, Matt and Issey Cartlidge, have talked about how important it is to finally bottle the raw energy of their extensive live shows into this record, and now fans get the chance to experience those tracks in the venue where they were meant to be heard.

The Molotovs are a London-based trio, featuring brothers Matt (vocalist/guitarist) and Issey (bass/vocals), alongside drummer Noah Riley. Despite their young agesâMatt is 19 and Issey is 17âthey are far from newcomers, having already clocked over 600 shows across the UK. Their sound is firmly rooted in the punk and mod revival scene of the late 70s, drawing strong comparisons to bands like The Jam and Paul Weller. This classic influence seems to be resonating widely; their debut album was well-received, earning a 4/5 rating from Kerrang!, and even managed to hit number two in the official mid-week charts, just behind Lily Allen, thanks largely to a focus on physical sales.
The Brighton gig is part of a wider 'Welcome To Urbia' tour that includes major stops in cities like London, Glasgow, and Manchester. Given that the band has already sold over 15,000 tickets in the last couple of years, thereâs clearly a lot of interest surrounding their high-octane performances. Itâs worth noting that while they attract some younger faces, their previous album launch events have drawn a significant older crowd, suggesting their revivalist sound is hitting the mark across generations. If youâre planning on going, the event is ticketed, and sales officially started back on Friday, February 6th, at 10 a.m. Tickets are available via the band's official channels, so you know where to look if you want to catch what promises to be a solid night of guitar-driven music this autumn.
