A live concert spectacular tribute to Motown classics with dance, costumes and musicianship, suitable for all ages.
The Magic of Motown comes to the Theatre Royal on Sunday 31 January 2027, a live tribute to the Motown sound. It's a choreographed show built around a cast of singers and dancers, with dozens of costume changes throughout the night.
The set list pulls from the Motown songbook, with the producers listing 36 million-selling hits as the foundation. You'll hear the well-known ones: Stop in the Name of Love, Get Ready, I Want You Back, I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, and I Can't Help Myself. From there, the repertoire stretches across the 1960s classics and into later work by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross.
It's a long-running production, now in its 20th year and having played to over a million people. The show has toured the UK's bigger stages, with sell-out runs at London's O2, Glasgow's SECC, the Wales Millennium Centre and the Belfast Waterfront. The production describes itself as one of the biggest success stories in British theatre history and 'the biggest Motown party of the year'.
