A hilarious, moving and sometimes angry one-woman show by Charlotte Palmer exploring the experience of women over 50 who feel overlooked and ignored.
Charlotte Palmer brings her one-woman show, The Invisible Woman, to Ironworks Studios on Thursday 24 September. It's a solo piece written and performed by Palmer herself, and the title is a bit of a double act: the full name is The Invisible Woman (Is not Invisible).
Palmer is a veteran actress who's spent decades in the spotlight, with a CV that reads like a who's who of British telly. You'll recognise her from EastEnders, Coronation Street, Prime Suspect 73, Ab Fab, The Vicar of Dibley and Extras. She frames the show around turning 50 and that specific feeling of becoming overlooked, ignored and disregarded in all areas of life. It's described as a hilarious, moving and sometimes angry exploration of women over 50 who find themselves invisible, so it's as much about the frustration as it is about the comedy.
The venue is Ironworks Studios at 30 Cheapside, BN1 4GD, a spot well known for drag cabaret, burlesque and stand-up comedy. It's home to Stephen Grant's Forge Comedy Club and the ongoing Pride at the Ironworks series, which celebrates LGBTQ+ culture and diversity, so it's a room that knows its way around a live performance.

Doors open at 7:00 pm, and the show runs from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, two hours with an interval. Tickets are £15. It's recommended for ages 12 and over, with under-18s accompanied by an adult.
