The main feature of this tribute is the performer known as Doris Daydream. If you’re curious about the person behind the stage name, she is Jackie Mitchell, and she’s the one bringing this classic material to life. The show is set to take place at The Lantern Theatre in Brighton (BN2 1PF), which is a familiar and intimate venue for many of the Fringe events happening around the city.
For those interested in catching a performance, you’ll need to look at the middle of May. The show is scheduled for three consecutive evenings: Thursday, May 14th; Friday, May 15th; and Saturday, May 16th. All three performances are set to start at 7 p.m. It’s a nice early slot if you want to grab dinner afterwards.
As for what you can expect to hear, the show promises to cover some of Doris Day’s biggest hits. The setlist includes classics like 'Secret Love', 'Deadwood Stage', and 'Black Hills of Dakota'. Naturally, they also feature the songs everyone associates with her, such as 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps' and the iconic 'Que Sera, Sera'. It sounds like a comprehensive look at the music that defined her career, presented right here in Brighton.
