Afternoon stand-up comedy show featuring a resident MC and a mystery TV headliner, with acts ranging from beginners to professionals.
The Comedy Experiment is back at the Caroline of Brunswick on Saturday 10 October, with doors opening at 3:40pm and the show running from 4:00pm to around 6:30pm. It's an afternoon club, which means you're out and about before the evening even starts — a good shout if you've got plans later or just fancy a drink and a laugh in the middle of the day.
The format is a new material gig, a room where acts range from complete beginners to seasoned professionals, with newer names road-testing material alongside established pros. Resident MC Alicia Davison hosts the session, and the bill is rounded out with a mystery TV headliner. Past headliners have included Maisie Adam, Geoff Norcott, Zoe Lyons, Joe Wilkinson, Harriet Kemsley, Shazia Mirza, Laura Lexx and Dane Baptiste, so the name on the bill is usually someone you'll recognise from the telly.
The venue is the Caroline of Brunswick, an 80-seater room that's hosted stand-up stars like Rhod Gilbert, Jon Richardson, Josie Long, Richard Herring, Sara Pascoe, Romesh Ranganathan, Isy Suttie, Katherine Ryan and Josh Widdicombe. The Comedy Experiment itself runs three times a month in Brighton, always starting at 4:00pm and wrapping up by around 6:30pm.
