Live music sessions in Brighton designed as a relaxed pre-game atmosphere before clubbing, held at the Laughing Horse bar.
The Brighton Warmup kicks off at Laughing Horse on Saturday 11 July, with Matt on the music. It's a live session that runs from 19:00 to 21:00, and it's not a one-off: the same slot returns every Saturday through the summer and into the autumn. After the 11th, you'll find it on the 18th and 25th of July, then every Saturday through August — the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th — and finally on the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of September. That's eleven Saturdays in a row, so if you miss one, there's plenty more to choose from.
The whole thing is billed as a relaxed night of live music, aimed at people who want a bit of a wind-down before heading out. The idea is to gather a few friends and have a drink in the bar with a live set playing in the background, rather than making the music the sole focus of the evening. It's a low-pressure way to start a Saturday night — something to settle into before the clubbing part of the night takes over.

Matt is the one on the bills, and the format stays the same each week: live music from 19:00 to 21:00. It's a two-hour window, so you can drop in for one drink or hang out for the whole set. The venue is Laughing Horse, inside the a&o Hostel Bar at 41-42 Old Steine, BN1 1NH, right in the heart of the city. It's free entry, so there's nothing to book or pay for in advance — just turn up when you're ready. If you're planning a big night out, this is a straightforward way to get the evening moving a few hours early.
