Singer-songwriter Teenage Waitress performs ten brand new songs live at The Folklore Rooms.
Teenage Waitress plays The Folklore Rooms on Saturday 6 February, with ten brand new songs making their first live appearance. The set is the first hearing of the project's fourth album, and the ten songs were all written between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2026. They're being performed live for the first time before a single note of them has been recorded, so this is as early as you'll get to hear them.
Teenage Waitress is the solo project of Southampton singer-songwriter Daniel J. Ash. He describes the songs as 'a collection of other people's stories set to what I hope are some instantly hummable tunes', then drowned out by 'fuzzy, obnoxious guitars and synths that sound a bit poorly'. It's a fair summary of the contrast at work here: the hummable melodies on one side, and the fuzzy, slightly broken-sounding guitars and synths on the other.
With ten new songs written over the course of 2026, the set is a full run through the new album rather than a few new tracks tucked into a best-of. And since they're being played live before they've even been recorded, you're hearing them in their rawest form.

The gig is at The Folklore Rooms, 12 North Street, BN1 3GJ. Doors open at 19:30, with the show starting at 20:00. Tickets are £11, which includes the booking fee.
