Sussex-based duo Sweet Loretta celebrate the release of their debut album 'You Had To Be There' with a special live launch show.
Sweet Loretta are playing Alphabet on Saturday 25 July, a show to mark the release of their debut album, You Had To Be There. The set will draw from the new record, with a selection of fan favourites mixed in, so it's a bit of both the new material and the songs they've been playing out on the road.
Sweet Loretta is a Sussex-based duo made up of Quinn Humphreys and Fraser Blanchflower. Over the last two years they've built their following around a blend of 1970s and 1980s pop, soul and funk — the kind of sound that sits comfortably between those decades. The music has picked up more than 155,000 Spotify streams and airplay on BBC Radio Surrey & Sussex, and it's taken them across Europe and the United States supporting Kishi Bashi.
Lead vocalist Quinn Humphreys explained why they chose Brighton for the launch: "the city has played such a huge part in our lives." It's a local record coming home, then.
