An intimate house music event at The Railway Inn featuring Lizzie Curious and Mikee Hollywood with a limited capacity of 99 tickets.
The Railway Inn in Portslade is set to host a house music event called Summer Shakedown on 2nd May 2026. This project is a collaboration between Curious Energy and HW Events Brighton, following on from a previous party they held at the same venue on New Year’s Eve. It seems the demand from that night led to this follow-up, which is designed to take advantage of the early May weather. The schedule starts at 18:00 in the beer garden with Balearic chillout tracks, though this part of the evening depends on the weather being clear. As the night progresses, the music moves inside the pub, shifting towards a mix of old and new school house, funky house, and disco house, with the event wrapping up at 01:00.

The music will be handled by Lizzie Curious and Mikee Hollywood, who are joined by guest DJ Billy M (DJ BMC). What stands out about this specific date is the decision regarding the venue's capacity. Although The Railway Inn can typically accommodate up to 500 people, the organisers have restricted entry to just 99 tickets—often referred to in their information as "Willy Wonka golden tickets." This significant reduction in numbers suggests an intention to keep the vibe much more intimate and less crowded than a standard club night in Brighton. It changes the dynamic of the space, focusing on a smaller group of people rather than a high-volume crowd.
In terms of the practical side of things, this is an 18+ event and there is a strict last entry time of 21:00. If you are planning to head down, it’s worth noting that tickets went on sale on Friday, 13th February 2026. The early bird tickets are priced at £10, a figure that already includes the booking fees. Because the event is based in Portslade, it offers a local option for those in the Brighton and Hove area who prefer a shorter trip home. The setup is quite clear: a limited capacity, a specific progression of house music genres throughout the evening, and a focus on a more personal atmosphere within a well-known local pub.
