Musical-based comedy show The My Old Heart Tour by Stephen Lynch, blending stand-up and music.
Stephen Lynch brings The My Old Heart Tour to the Theatre Royal on Thursday 14 January 2027, with the show starting at 20:00. It's a musical comedy night, and if you've never come across him before, Lynch describes himself as 'a musician trapped in the body of a comedian'. That's a fair summary of what he does: he writes and performs songs that are as much about the music as they are about the punchlines.
He's built a decent following on that particular brand of musical comedy, and the numbers back it up. He's put out five best-selling CDs and an RIAA-certified Gold DVD, Live at the El Rey, and has appeared in top-rated Comedy Central specials. His albums A Little Bit Special, Superhero, The Craig Machine and 3 Balloons have sold hundreds of thousands of copies, so there's a fair bit of recorded material to dip into if you want to get a feel for his style before the show.
He's toured alongside comedy heavyweights like Lewis Black and the late Mitch Hedberg, and has headlined sold-out shows across the US, Australia and Europe. Over there, he's been called 'the Beyonce of Scandinavia', which is a line he's probably quite fond of. When he's not on the road, he divides his time between New York and Michigan with his wife.
