A free, bimestral experimental music 'alldayer' presented by Lost Property at the Green Door Store, featuring multiple noise and sound artists.
If you appreciate sound that pushes boundaries, Lost Property and Club Zygotic are kicking off February with the return of their long-running experimental music event, Splitting The Atom. This is a fixture in Brighton’s noise scene, having been running since 2010, dedicated to 'sonic rarities' and 'free/noise alldayers.' It’s a reliable source for those interested in the more challenging and rewarding corners of the local music landscape, offering a platform for truly unique performances.

This edition is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026, taking over the Green Door Store right under the station arches. It’s set up as an alldayer, with the event generally kicking off around 3:00 pm, so you can plan for a full afternoon and evening of sound exploration. The best news for your wallet is that entry is completely GRATUITO (free). Just remember that access is restricted to those 16 years and older. The program is substantial, featuring Cour’en as the main act, supported by a diverse bill that includes Hexagone, Ensemble, Rubber Bus, Eh Yes, and Ascsoms, plus more artists.
The Green Door Store, located at Units 2, 3 & 4 Trafalgar Arches, Lower Goods Yard, Brighton Railway Station, BN1 4FQ, provides the perfect backdrop for this kind of sonic exploration. Beyond just the music, Splitting The Atom has a strong community focus. The organizers have been actively using the sales of event recordings to help fundraise for the Green Door Store and Rossi Bar, supporting the venue through ongoing challenges. Attending this event is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon immersed in unique sounds while also contributing to the sustainability of one of Brighton’s key independent music spaces.
