A unique music quiz experience described as a party in disguise, featuring rounds of chart classics, anthems, and guilty pleasures.
The Sounds Familiar Music Quiz is coming to the Horizon Club on Friday 17 July 2026. It is a bit different from your standard pub quiz, as the organisers describe it as "the party disguised as a quiz." Rather than just answering questions, the event is built around a mix of music that spans from the 1960s right up to the present day, aiming to be the perfect combination of your favourite music.

The format covers a wide range of genres, including Chart Classics, Old Skool Anthems, Indie Bangers, Mash-Ups, Power Ballads, and Guilty Pleasures. Across the evening, they play over 100 songs. The way it works is that you form a team—you can have up to 10 people, though if you’re in a larger group, you can just split into smaller teams. You’ll need to come up with a team name, select a 'joker' round to play, and then get to work identifying the songs and artists as they play. It is designed to be more than just a music quiz, focusing on the experience of the music itself.
The organisers have a bit of a track record with this format. They claim to be the only music quiz that has sold out The Camden Roundhouse, and they’ve also supported the band 5ive. They even mention that they have played at the Glastonbury festival more times than David Bowie. It’s a specific style of event that they describe as "the perfect combination of your favourite music." One attendee review on their site called it "the best birthday party I've ever had doing the best music quiz in the country."
If you’re planning to head down, keep in mind that this is strictly an 18+ event, and they operate a strict policy where no minors are allowed, including "Babes in Arms." The doors at the Horizon Club (located at 214 Kings Rd, Brighton, BN1 1NB) open at 18:30, and the quiz itself starts at 19:30 sharp, running until 23:00. Tickets are priced at £13.90.
