Travelling troubadour Sorrel Nation blends folk-rock and country influences in a live concert.
Sorrel Nation plays The Folklore Rooms on Thursday 29 April 2027, with her full band behind her. It's a night that sits right in the folk-rock and Americana territory, with the set drawing on her latest work and the songs that built her reputation over the last few years.
Nation is a Kent-born singer-songwriter who blends Americana, folk-rock and country into a soulful sound carried by powerful vocals and haunting melodies. She grew up in a house of eclectic musical influences and first stepped on stage at age ten with a Beatles tribute band in France; by thirteen, she was fronting a folk-rock band of her own. Since then she's opened for folk legends Martin Simpson, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, as well as John Otway, Madison Violet, 3 Daft Monkeys and Jackie Leven. Now living on the Isle of Wight, she tours the UK in her campervan, drawing from nature, travel and real-life experience for songs about solitude and resilience.
Her critically acclaimed debut, Lost En Route, led to festival appearances at Black Deer, Wickham, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk Festival. Her rootsy second album, Creeping Thyme, arrived on 23 October 2026, and this show will be one of the times it's played out in full with a band. And yes, Sorrel Nation is her real name.
