Slow Leaves play The Folklore Rooms on Saturday 14 November, as part of the Folklore Sessions programme. It's the project of Winnipeg songwriter Grant Davidson, who's known for his evocative lyrics and mesmerising fingerpicking. He's an award winner who blends folk and psych-rock, and he describes himself as a lonely-song writer who turns self-perceived failure into intimate, whispered anthems, seeking 'greatness in small spaces' and private, close-quarters fame.
His latest album, The Ruins of Things Unfinished, is the record he'll be drawing from. It looks at ambition, love and the quiet victories of a life devoted to art, and the songs sit right in that folk-psych crossover he's built his name on. If you've come across his work before, you'll recognise the fingerpicking that runs through it.

The show is part of the Folklore Sessions programme at The Folklore Rooms, so it's one of several nights the venue is hosting as part of that series. The room is at 12 North St, BN1 3GJ, and it's an 18+ venue, so you'll need to be over eighteen to get in. Tickets start from £17, and the music kicks off at 8:00 PM.
