Brighton run of the Sister Act musical tour, with Craig Revel Horwood as Mother Superior, based on the Whoopi Goldberg film.
Sister Act is coming to the Theatre Royal from 24 to 29 January 2028, as part of its 2027-28 UK and Ireland tour. The production takes its story from the Whoopi Goldberg film, in which Deloris is a disco singer whose murder is hidden by the police, leading her to take over a convent choir. It's a musical built around that premise, and the music follows suit.
Alan Menken wrote the score, leaning on Motown, soul and disco, with lyrics by Glenn Slater. The book is by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner, with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane. The Brighton run is one stop on a tour that opened at New Wimbledon Theatre on 11 September 2027 and is scheduled to run until the end of March 2028, with 17 venues confirmed and Dublin to follow.
