A day of free exercise classes, children's activities and a Mad Hatter's Tea party at Saltdean Lido.
Saltdean Lido is hosting its Family Fun Day on Saturday 15 August, with the whole thing running from 10:00 to 18:00. It's a free day, and the programme is a bit of a mixed bag, so you can pick and choose what suits you. There's a good deal for kids, with Kids Summer Activities, Little City, and pipe-cleaner flower making for Lido Kids. There's also a story time with author and vet Marc Abraham, and a Mad Hatter's Tea Party that should be a hit with the smaller ones.
If you're looking to move, there's plenty to get into. Conon is leading Pilates and Ballet Fit, as well as Tai Chi and Flow and Core. Sudakini is running a gentle introduction to Qi Gong, and Dani has a Wellbeing Day focused on strength and resistance. If you'd rather just listen, there's Poolside Live, and Kathrin from Optimal Nutrition is doing a personalised nutrition talk.
It's worth keeping in mind where this is all happening. Saltdean Lido's pool and buildings are now open year-round, following a transformational renovation funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Historic England, Brighton and Hove City Council and local residents. The refurbished building serves as a home for both one-off and regular events, and the venue still leans on its heritage as a seaside leisure hub.
