Saltdean Lido Dog Swim 2026 - Australian Shepherds and Collies

Saltdean Lido is opening its pool to dogs on Saturday 26 September, with this particular session dedicated to Australian Shepherds and Collies. It's part of DOGTEMBER 2026, a series of dog-themed sessions that double as a fundraiser for the Saltdean Lido Trust, the registered charity that looks after the pool and which volunteers organise, run and steward.

The venue is a Grade 2* listed lido, beautifully refurbished with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. During the session, dogs get access to the 40m heated pool, the splash pool with its slide and water spouts, and plenty of grass to run on. If you want to get in the water with your dog, you'll need a human swim ticket; if you're happy to stay poolside and throw a ball, a Spectator ticket is enough. Children under 16 aren't allowed in the main pool, though they can use the splash pool. Parking in the Lido car park is free.

If you're coming from further afield, there's a bit to see nearby. Kipling Gardens are the grounds of The Elms, where Rudyard Kipling lived from 1897 to 1902, and the Grange Museum is housed in a charming early Georgian building. Both are within easy reach of the Lido.
