London singer-songwriter Roxanne De Bastion plays The Folklore Rooms, presented by FORM X Folklore Sessions.
Roxanne De Bastion plays The Folklore Rooms on Monday 15 March, with special guests on the bill. The night is presented by FORM X Folklore Sessions, and she'll be performing live as the main feature.
De Bastion is a London-based singer-songwriter who describes herself as a 'weird kid'. She grew up between Berlin and the West Midlands, obsessed with The Beatles and Alanis Morissette, and followed her father's advice to write only when she had something to say. She left Berlin for London straight from high school and, with no financial support, balanced hospitality and admin work with around 90 solo gigs a year across the UK and Europe. She's played over 600 to date, including two USA tours in 2017 and 2018.
Her second album, You And Me, We Are The Same, channels the pain of her father's death. That's the kind of material she brings to the stage: songs that come from a personal place, and a career built on the road rather than in a studio. The Brighton date is part of the FORM X Folklore Sessions series, so she'll be sharing the bill with special guests.
