A grassroots live-music fundraising event featuring various bands to raise funds for Dementia UK.
On Sunday, 29 March 2026, The Prince Albert on Trafalgar Street will host Rock 4 Dementia. This grassroots music event, which first started in 2020, was established by Sharon and Neil Thompson following the loss of their mother to vascular dementia. The initiative focuses on raising funds for Dementia UK, specifically to support the provision of Admiral Nurses for families affected by the condition. Having previously raised over £5,000 through their efforts, the organisers are now bringing the event to Brighton for the first time.

The programme for the day, which runs from 13:00 to 22:00, has been coordinated by a team including Martin Parrott, known as Marty Love, alongside Maxine Talulah, Kairen Kemp, Will Moore, and Charlie Harper. Attendees can expect a full schedule of performances from a variety of artists, including Finnian James, The Sixx, Space Angel, Angelica Mode, Amber T, James Browne, and Lure of Venus. The music continues with sets from DJ Lamp, Alan Clayton of The Dirty Strangers, and Neal Whitmore from Sigue Sigue Sputnik, with Ian Griffiths serving as the compere for the day.
A specific feature of this year’s event is the release of a double CD featuring 30 tracks from 30 different artists. This collection includes an exclusive, previously unreleased song titled 'Where've You Been', written by Baz Warne of The Stranglers. For those planning to attend, the venue is located at 48 Trafalgar Street, Brighton, BN1 4ED. Tickets are priced at £18.00, and as this is a ticketed event, booking in advance is required to secure entry. It is a practical way to support the work of Dementia UK while spending the day listening to live music in a local setting. The event is open to anyone interested in the cause or the music, and the venue’s location near the station makes it accessible for those coming from around the city.
