Radio Blah Blah with Guy Lloyd

Guy Lloyd brings Radio Blah Blah to The Actors Pub in Kemptown on Thursday 1 October, starting at 19:00. It's a live show that takes the radio studio and turns it into a performance space, with the volume turned up to eleven. The format pairs live sets from bands, solo artists, comedians and poets with interviews with local and wider figures, all played out in front of a live audience. The whole thing draws on Lloyd's thirteen years as the face of Juice Radio 107.2, where he hosted the afternoon show and eventually became the station's most popular voice, until Global took over and turned it into Capital Brighton. It traces his journey from humble Nottinghamshire beginnings to the ego that came with being a local celebrity, including his alter-ego Vince Venus, who was buzzed off on record time on Britain's Got Talent, and a prank he played on Simon Webbe of Blue on air. The show is framed as a story of love and loss, told with film and images throughout.
