The acclaimed one-man musical project of Konrad Wert, blending folk, blues, Americana and roots music, presented by Folklore Sessions.
Possessed By Paul James plays The Folklore Rooms on Wednesday 11 November, with support from James Brute. The night is presented by Folklore Sessions, and it's for over-18s.
Possessed By Paul James is the one-man project of Texas singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Konrad Wert. He works across folk, blues, Americana and roots music, and he does it all on his own: a battered acoustic guitar, foot percussion and a voice that shifts from tender storytelling to soul-stirring intensity. His songs look at resilience, redemption, love and the human experience, and he's earned a reputation as one of the most captivating live performers on the Americana circuit.
It's a stripped-back setup — just the guitar, the foot percussion and the voice — so the focus stays on the songwriting and the performance rather than a full band. With James Brute opening the night, there's two acts on the bill. The whole thing runs from 19:30 to 23:00, so it's a full evening rather than a quick set.
