Beach party with resident DJs from the Positive Sounds crew, featuring UK underground house music.
Positive Sounds are back on the beach at Carats Cafe Bar on Saturday 5 September, part of a three-party run they're bringing to Southwick Beach this season. They're Brighton's original beach party crew, and this return comes by popular demand after a roadblock reunion party the previous year. The 2026 season is built around the organisers' all-time favourite guests and their own resident DJs, with a state-of-the-art sound system brought in for the occasion.
Their sound is rooted in the UK underground, a deep, intelligent and funky house style that draws on jazz, punk and reggae. It's a style they honed on London's pirate radio circuit and at underground parties like Wiggle and Whoop Whoop, so there's a fair bit of history behind it. The whole thing is built around the resident DJs, with the guest spots filled by the people they've always wanted to have on.
