A folk-punk concert featuring Pigeon Pit, Cheap Dirty Horse, and Elena Sirett as part of the 2026 UK summer tour.
If you are looking for something a bit different to do on a Wednesday night, there is a show coming up at The Brunswick in Hove on June 3rd, 2026. Pigeon Pit and Cheap Dirty Horse are stopping by as part of their summer tour across the UK and Ireland. It is a bit of a mix, but both acts bring a very specific energy to the stage that feels quite distinct from the usual local gig circuit.

Pigeon Pit, the project led by Lomes Oleander from Olympia, Washington, is touring behind their 2025 album, Leash Aggression. Their sound is often described as maximalist journaling, which translates into songs that lean heavily on storytelling. They incorporate instruments like the violin and pedal steel guitar, which gives their folk-punk style a bit of a different texture, drawing comparisons to artists like The Weakerthans or Gram Parsons. The lyrics tend to focus on themes like self-acceptance and navigating the future, framed through a lens of hope rather than cynicism.
Sharing the bill is Cheap Dirty Horse, a six-piece folk-punk band from Nottingham. They have a much rowdier approach, using a setup that includes banjo, accordion, and a full rhythm section. Their music is generally protest-oriented, covering topics ranging from transgender rights to, quite specifically, octopuses. It is energetic, loud, and fits well with the DIY ethos of the night. To round out the lineup, Elena Sirett will also be performing. Based in North London, she plays solo acoustic sets that deal with personal experiences, specifically regarding borderline personality disorder, in a very direct way.
The show starts at 19:00 and is strictly for those aged 18 and over. If you are planning to head down to 1 Holland Road, tickets are currently available in the £12 to £15 range for advance bookings, though it is worth noting that prices can be slightly higher if you wait to pay at the door. It is a solid option if you are interested in the intersection of folk-punk, queer culture, and politically charged songwriting.
