Pete & Mila Molinari play The Prince Albert on Wednesday 23 September, presented by Melting Vinyl. It's a folk and blues night with special guests on the bill, and it's an over-18s event.
Pete Molinari is a British singer-songwriter, poet, and recording artist who works in contemporary folk and blues. He was born in Kent into a large Maltese, Egyptian, and Italian family and cut his teeth in the folk and blues clubs of New York's East Village. His fourth album, Theosophy, featured collaborations with Dan Auerbach and Barrie Cadogan, with production by Tchad Blake and Andrew Weatherall, and earned him admiration from Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Yoko Ono. His most recent record, Wondrous Afternoon, was recorded in Rome with producer Luca Sapio for Blind Faith Records, and he's currently recording his next LP for the same label.
He returns to Europe with his wife, Mila, who joins him as a percussionist and backing vocalist. She brings an aesthetic inspired by Old Hollywood, the Jazz Age, and Technicolour musicals, so the two of them together add a different dimension to the songs than Pete on his own.
