A new stage adaptation of the iconic horror film series, exploring a story where characters discover that it is people, not places, that are haunted.
If you are familiar with the Paranormal Activity film series, you might be interested to know that a stage adaptation is coming to the Theatre Royal Brighton later this year. The production, written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett, who is known for his work with Punchdrunk, takes a slightly different approach to the story we have seen on screen. Instead of focusing on a specific location, the narrative centres on the idea that it is people, rather than places, that carry hauntings with them. The plot follows characters James and Lou as they relocate from Chicago to London, attempting to leave their past behind, only to find that their situation follows them.

The production is scheduled to run from 24 November to 28 November 2026. The theatre, located on New Road, has set the schedule with evening performances at 19:30 from Tuesday through to Saturday. For those who prefer daytime theatre, there are additional matinee performances available at 14:30 on both the Thursday and the Saturday. It is worth noting that the production is recommended for those aged 15 and over, as the show includes strong language and moments of high tension, which aligns with the tone of the original films.
Tickets for the run are currently available, with prices starting from £15.60. This production is brought to the stage by producers Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska for Melting Pot. Given the nature of the venue and the specific dates, it is a straightforward opportunity to see this adaptation during its tour across the UK and Ireland. Whether you are a fan of the original films or simply interested in how this specific horror concept translates to a live theatre environment, the dates are set for late November at the Theatre Royal.
